<br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION - OCTOBER 4,2000 <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />Commissioner Baker asked whether excavations should be included under thc "Codification <br />Review". Ms. Chaput stated there are no specifications with regard to excavations which fall <br />under the building permit process. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />COllncil Liaison <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson reviewed actions taken at the Council's September 24 regular meeting <br />from which he was absent. He stated that the Council approved plamling cases from Hood <br />Flexible Packaging with regard to chain link fence screening as part of a PUD amendment, as <br />wcll as a variance from the ordinary high water mark setback at 1228 Karth Lake Drive. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated that an application for a Class II home occupation permit from <br />Gayle Gulsvig was denied, and the applicant was giyen 30 days to rcmove the business from her <br />property or present a plan for removal of her business to City staff. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated that a groundbreaking for the new City Hall facility is scheduled <br />for October 16. He added that the property title has still not been received by the City, but City <br />Administrator Joe Lynch has seen a draft ofthe title document which is yet to be executed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated Councilmembers Grant and Aplikowski are coming to the end of <br />their terms on the Council. He added that two residents and the two incumbents have filed for <br />open Council positions. He added that the residents are John Fremoth and Michael Coopet. <br /> <br />Planninl! Commissioners <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch stated she has not seen any campaign information circulated. <br />Councilmember Larson stated thc League of Women Voter's debate is scheduled for cable <br />television, adding he has seen no campaigning either. <br /> <br />Commissioncr Galatowitsch stated the Bethel College athletic field project is under way. Acting <br />Chair Nelson stated that an article on the project was on the front page of the today's local <br />newspaper. <br /> <br />Commissioner Baker stated that the County is continuing its work in Tony Schmidt Park. <br /> <br />Staff <br /> <br />Ms. Chaput stated that she would wish the Commissioners to indicate whether they intend to <br />remain on the Commission for the duration of2001. She added that it is helpful for City staffto <br />be able to plan for thc number of vacancies. Acting Chair Nelson stated he will be moving away <br />from the area at the beginning of 200 1. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand asked whether there has been any information with regard to Presbyterian <br />Homes' interest in the property at the corner of Lake Johanna Boulevard and County Road D. <br />Ms. Chaput stated there has been no information recently. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand stated it would be helpful if the City employed an economic development <br />specialist to focus specifically upon such matters.
