<br />. <br /> <br />the case of such cvent, the Contractor will notify WCCO Radio and KSTP <br />Radio by 6:00 a.m. to announce postponement and provide information on a <br />substitute date. Generally, thc Contractor will perform the postponed <br />collection on the Friday following the schedulcd collection day, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3, Collection <br /> <br />3.1 Rceyclahle materials shall be prepared as follows: <br />Magazines, newsDrint and non-gJossv DaDer: Placed in paper bags or <br />cardboard boxes. <br /> <br />Glass: Lids removed, rinsed and placed in paper bags or cardboard boxes. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous Metals: Placed in cardboard boxes not to exceed fiftcen <br />pounds (15 Ibs,) in weight. <br /> <br />Cardboard and Box Boards: Bagged, boxed or bundled no larger than three <br />feet by three feet (3' x 3 '). <br /> <br />Plastics: Caps removed, bottles rinscd and flattened and placed in a papcr <br />bag or cardboard box. <br /> <br />Aerosol Cans: Completely drained and placed in a papcr bag or cardboard <br />box. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3.2 All recyclable matcria1 placed for collection shall be owned by and the <br />responsibility of the occupants or residcntia1 properties until they are handled <br />by the Contractor. Upon handling of the containers and recyclable materials <br />by the Contractor, the recyclable matcrials become the property and <br />responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> <br />3.3 Rccyclable materials deemed unacceptable by the Contractor according to <br />the preparation procedures in provision 3.1 shall be collccted in the first <br />OCCUlTence by the Contractor and a notice left with the occupant. The <br />addrcss and the reason shall be reported to thc City the following day so the <br />City can notify the resident of the proper sorting procedure. <br /> <br />Subsequent instances of unacceptable recyclable materials may be rejected; <br />however, this shall be reported to the City and a notice left with the occupant <br />explaining why the materials were not picked up. <br /> <br />3.4 The Contractor's cmployees shall savc for resident reuse any containers <br />marked SAVE, These containers, once emptied, shall be returned to the <br />curbside. Any spills will be cleaned up immediately by the Contractor. <br /> <br />. <br />
