Mr. <br />Phillip Johnson, memher of Board of Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, replied they <br />had not addressed the issue if the cottage and garage would be restored or torn down. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stated this appeared to still be special use for institutional <br />housing. Mr. Johnson stated that was correct and this would not he used as residential <br />housing. He stated the existing huilding did not meet ADA requirements and the <br />huilding was very old and that was the reason they wanted to expand it. <br /> <br />Therese Cain, Executive Director Little Brothers, stated the building would he open year <br />round, but would not he used much in the winter due to the elderly not going out much in <br />the winter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman asked if they would be willing to open up this facility to <br />others for meetings, etc. Ms. Cain stated they would be willing to do this for a small <br />charge to cover expenses. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch asked if they intended on adding any dock slips. Mr. <br />Johnson stated they may want to add one slip for a pontoon boat, but there would be no <br />motor boats, jet skis, etc. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch expressed concern regarding inadequate parking. Mr. Rust <br />explained where they intended to have parking. Mr. Johnson stated most of the elderly <br />were transported by van, so there would be very little increase in traffic or parking. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch stated this type of a development would open up more <br />volunteer opportunities within the community. Mr. Johnson indicated they had met with <br />the Lake Association and they were extremely supportive of this proposal. <br /> <br />Tom Lynch, member of Lake Association, stated he lived two homes away and indicated <br />he did not even know the Little Brothers were there. He stated this was not a 24-hour, <br />seven day a week operation. He believed this organization was a good neighbor, and the <br />Lake Association supported this proposal. <br /> <br />Commissioner Erickson asked if there was any contemplated expansion. Mr. Johnson <br />replied they did not anticipate any further expansion. <br /> <br />Ms. Cain explained the Little Brothers program offerings. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch inquired about the exterior materials.
