Due to the time requirements ofland acquisition and securing major tenants, the time <br />requirement for the final plan to be submitted no more than six months after the date of the <br />City Council's approval ofthe Master PUD be changed to eighteen months for this proposal; <br />and <br />13, Approval of the master plan is contingent on the applicant's acquisition of all properties <br />shown in the proposal. <br /> <br />The motion carried (5-1 Galatowitsch). <br /> <br />This Planning Case will be reviewed at the Monday, March 26, 2001, City Council meeting, <br /> <br />Commissioner Erickson was excused from the meeting at 10: 11 p,m, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PLANNING CASE # 01-06 - CITY OF ARDEN HILLS - COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT - PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Chair Baker opened the public hearing at 10: 12 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Chaput explained that the City of Arden Hills is requesting amendment of Figure 7.1, Road <br />Classifications, of the 1998 Comprehensive Plan to correct the locations ofthe identified <br />"Community Gateways," reflecting the findings ofthe 1985 Parkway System Feasibility Study. <br /> <br />Ms, Chaput reviewed that in November 1998, the City's Comprehensive Plan was updated and <br />adopted by the City Council. It is currently undergoing approval with the Metropolitan Council <br />and expected to be approved in March, 2001. The Metropolitan Council has been contacted <br />regarding this potential amendment and have stated that there are no issues from their <br />perspective in making these minor changes. To amend the Comprehensive Plan, a public hearing <br />is required at the Planning Commission level and final approval must be made by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Chaput explained that "Community Gateways" have been discussed by a number of City <br />committees over the last two decades, namely the Parks Committee and the Operations and <br />Finance Committee, The 1998 Comprehensive Plan update identified "Community Gateway" <br />locations in Figure 7,1, Road Classifications, This map was generated from the 1985 Parkways <br />System Feasibility Study, as identified by the Parkway Task Force and Wehrman Consultants at <br />that time, <br /> <br />. <br />
