At the western terminus of
the project, County Road I curves east of Hamline A venue,

I
I
,
I
I
I
I

The key points of Alternate 3 are:
. 1.2 Acres of wetland are filled.
. In order to eliminate traffic on the existing County Road I alignment near Turtle
Lake Elementary School, that portion of the road would terminate at a cul-de-sac,
Conflicts with school traffic would decrease.
. This alignment requires displacement of an established business, C.W. Houle, Inc., a
water and sewer contractor.
. It requires a vertical crest on a horizontal curve west of Lexington A venue. This
condition is undesirable in that the driver cannot percei ve the horizontal change in
alignment especially at night when the headlight beams go straight ahead into space.
. It impacts the perimeter road and fence at the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant
near Lexington A venue.
. It requires an on-grade bridge near Hamline A venue and immediately west of
Lexington A venue over the SI. Paul Water Ulility conduits.

I
I
.
I
I

C't.'i!' 1-<, ~ad I

Au!~~_~-;t "~()IJ'

1't '1'.,"..:1 I In('I, 'jm1l'lH Rcpm!

i'<ii->' !. i
