<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Oversees and inspects field operations to determine work progress, changing priorities, <br />problems, hazards, safety, and materials and equipment needs. <br /> <br />Oversees and reviews the refuse hauling and recycling programs and recommends any <br />changes. <br /> <br />Develops and plans purchases utilizing the Capital Equipment Improvement Fund and <br />gathers quotes and bidding information from vendors. <br /> <br />Reviews and recommends short and long term issues relating to parks and recreational <br />areas and facilities, including parks uses, acquisition, development of facilities; and <br />recreation program needs. <br /> <br />Directs the maintenance and operations program for City parks. <br /> <br />Responds to concerns, issues, and complaints from the general public, City Administrator, <br />elected officials and regulatory agencies. <br /> <br />Establishes and maintains communication with public. <br /> <br />Develops recreation programming and identification of future recreation issues. <br /> <br />Manages Park Fund capital projects. <br /> <br />Supervises reforestation program and administers the disease tree control program. <br /> <br />Attends City Council, PTRC, and other meetings as directed. <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Manages employees in the Operations and Maintenance Department. Responsible for <br />the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. <br /> <br />Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and <br />applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing; planning, assigning, and directing <br />work; rewarding and disciplining employees; evaluating performance, and addressing <br />complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include the ability to effectively <br />recommend recruiting, hiring, transferring, promoting, demoting, suspending and <br />discharging of employees. <br />
