If that disqualifies us, that is certainly acceptable and understandable from our <br />. standpoint. <br /> <br />Dr. Steve Hintz, Professor of Public Affairs at UW-O; and Denise Frueh and I formed Public Administration <br />Associates in 1998. I am enclosing an explanation of our company and the benefits it has to offer governmental <br />entities. We formed the company mostly for the purpose of enhancing the City Administration profession. The <br />methods and practices we use in Executive Searches follow procedures that we have found to be most workable and <br />almost guarantee that our clients will he pleased. If we do not follow our procedures, we are not interested in doing the <br />work. <br /> <br />Our philosophy, (we have found from serving our other Minnesota client, Oak Park Heights), differs from other <br />consultants and apparently the method you outline in the RFP in that we helieve our mission and ouroose it so suoolv <br />the best oossible information to the governing bodv in order for them to make the best oossihle decision. We do not <br />feel comfortable in making those final decisions or "identifying 'top' candidates for personal interviews". Our only <br />individual recommendations come when the total field is narrowed to ten semi-finalists for the further checking of <br />references and the preparation of videotape interviews. We then depend on the governing body, through individual, <br />independent ratings, to determine the finalists to be interviewed. In other words, we rely on the governing body <br />making the decisions, not the consultant. <br /> <br />I am enclosing a copy of the municipalities we have assisted in their executive searches. Together, we have assisted <br />almost one hundred connnunities and counties in their searches for new administrators. As a result of that extensive <br />experience, we have almost 350 detailed reference files and over 250 videotapes of possible candidates. Our <br />experience is mostly in the State of Wisconsin, but from the standpoint of the number of Chief Executives placed, we <br />rank as one of the busiest firms in the United States. <br /> <br />. The partners have many years of leadership experience in both the Wisconsin City/County Management Association <br />and the Intemational City/County Management Association. We know many of the potential candidates and that <br />ability will give you access to a wide range of prospects to fill the position with the best possible person. <br />
