The northern half of the frontage road would be elevated to reduce issues
arising out of nuisance flooding. The roadway would be signcd and striped for safe traffic
movement and to prohibit parking, A plan view of Alternative 1 is illustrated in exhibit A2 in
Appendix A,

Alternative 2 includes the horizontal and vertical alignment of Option A while the proposed
access to TH 51 is relocated to coincide with Red Fox Road. This access location would improve
vehicle queuing distance to enter the freeway (from Red Fox Road mainly), Initial discussions
with MnDOT staff have been supportive regarding the potential access location. MnDOT has
indicated that they would provide a full review (and hopefully approval) only if Council desires
to proceed with this option, It is possible that this option may be selected by the Council and
rejected by MnDOT staff. The roadway would be signed and striped for safe traffic movement
and prohibit parking, A plan view of Alternative 2 is illustrated in exhibit A3 in Appendix A.

ROW

I"

VARIES

\ J""'"~" - T

\

16'

5'-10'

l

~/

2,00%
~

2.00_%

2,0W.

32' FACE TO FACE
TWO WAY STREET NO PARKING
TH 51 FRONTAGE ROAD

ALTERNATIVE 1 & 2

URS

7
