The roadway would be signed and striped for safe traffic
movement and prohibit parking. A plan view of Alternative 3 is illustrated in exhibit A4 in
Appendix A.

ROW

ROW

VARIES

18'

5'-10'

~

,8618 C&C
I
\L
,

1/

.~

2.00%
~

2.00%
-

18' FACE TO FACE
ONE WAY STREET NO PARKING
TH 51 FRONTAGE ROAD

ALTERNATIVE 3

Alternative 4 eliminates the TH 51 Frontage Road entirely, relocates access to TH 51 to Red Fox
Road and includes a cuI de sac for the end of Grey Fox Road. This option would be the least
expensi ve however would have some access impacts to area businesses and is also subject to
approval from MnDOT staff. This option would allow for more extensive water quality
enhancement in the area previously occupied by the roadway. A plan view of Alternative 4 is
illustrated in exhibit A5 in Appendix A.

Grey Fox Road, Red Fox Road: The proposed improvements include several areas of curb
replacement and pavement patching followed by a full street width mill and 2.5" bituminous
overlay. Based upon field review, we anticipatc that approximately 5% of the roadway surface
will require patching, By correcting the most deficient sections of the roadway and curb
infrastructure as well as removing the entire top 2 inches of existing pavement (by milling), the
roadways should be serviceable for the next 10-15 years at a modest cost to the City and property
owners, This is a more aggressive scope for mill and overlay than has been used in the past
throughout the city however, it is recommendcd based upon the relatively poor surface condition
of these two roadways which otherwise meet or exceed City design standards,

URS

8
