The basin will collect runoff
from this pOltion of Skiles and ditch flow to
the north. A cui vert parallel to Old Snelling
will be constmcted under Skiles Lane for the
ditch flow. The altemative of constructing
storm sewer from the southern portion of
Skiles Lane and connecting it to Arden Place,
so that it can discharge into the wetland, is not Existing catch basin (Siems Courts)
economical. The depth of excavation would
exceed 30 feet and the disruption to trees and
private property would be extensive due to the natTow confines of the neighborhood.

The proposed ponds in the wetland will be designed to allow sedimentation of particulates prior
to discharging into the wetland and will be sized per NURP standards. The construction of the
ponds will consist of simple depressions within the wetland. An outlet structure at the southern
end of the wetland will be constructed to control the outflow and elevation of the wetland as well
as provide a means to skim floating debris from water discharging to Lake Johanna.

l"RS

13
