TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members Michelle Wolfe, City Administrator FROM: Schawn Johnson, Assistant to the City Administrator SUBJECT: Summary of City Administrator's Annual Pcrformance Review Backl!TOUnd On September 26th, the Arden Hills City Council held a closed session meeting to discuss the performance review of City Administrator Michelle Wolfe. Mayor Beverly Aplikowski, Councilmember Gregg Larson, Councilmember David Grant, and Councilmember Brenda Holden were present at this meeting. Councilmember Lois Rem was not . present at the closed session, but written remarks have been included in this summary. The performance period covered September 2,2004 to Septembcr 2, 2005. Input for the review was obtained from the following sources: . Mayor and City Council Significant themes, messages, etc. as follows: Organizational Theme: . Uses staff well. She mentors and commends but also is held responsible. . There is a cohesive staff; . She has done a lot with limited resources; . The conditions have made it difficult to succeed; Fiscal!Business Management: . Has been able to oversee development of a eomprehensive budget; . Has been successful in utilizing other agencies to save time and money; Relationship with Mayor and City Council: . Sometimes too cautious about decisions before asking members ofthe City Council; . Tries too hard to please. Also, requests that the City Administrator is more involved in the discussion at meetings. .
