TCAAP occupies approximately one third of the City, with approximately 500 acres to

be opened for the devclopment of a mix of rcsidential, commercial, recreational, and open spaces

over the ncxt 10 years. The visioning process relied heavily on input from residcnts, local

businesses, the PTRC, Planning Commission, Metropolitan Council, Department of

Transportation, the Moundsview School District, Ramsey County, the DNR, and thc City

Council. The TCAAP Vision Framework incorporates the City's desire for a more active

community Iifcstyle through the integration of higher density housing; mixcd-use development;

the proximity of services, schools, businesscs and employment opportunities; sidewalks;

bikeways; paths; and active and passive recreation features. TCAAP is an ongoing projcct with

significant potential to implement thc active living principles, provide more options for residents, .

and enhance the overall value of the City.

Arden Hills has traditionally embraced active and hcalthy community living through its

extensive parks and trails systems, smoking ban in City Parks, and community activities such as

Community Clean-up Day, Community Flower Planting Day, and Celebratc Arden Hills. The

City Council, the PTRC, residents, and staff, havc a strong desire to incorporate active

community living principles to a greater extent into our long-term goals and policies. The City

of Arden Hills is seeking assistance through this grant to learn more about active living

principles and how to apply iliem to developed neighborhoods and undeveloped areas. This

grant will advance the intcgration of active living into the City's broader developmcnt goals, and

.

4
