Therefore, staffwill be studying the following options as we prepare the CIP: Delay Snelling Avenue Reconstruction Project (2008) Delay all or some repairs to Water Tower (2007) Delay replacement of front end loader (2008) $130,000 S 85,000 S 72,500 In reviewing the report submitted after this past year's investigation of the water tower, staff helieves that the $85,000 in repairs wcrc not needed immcdiatcly and could be delayed if necessary. Thc front end loader is also budgeted in the General Capital fund so a delay in purchasing would affect both funds. A delay in the Snelling Avenue project would affect multiple funds including our MSA allotment. It should be noted that staff has bccn reviewing the equipment replacement schedule in the past few weeks. They are comforlable with consideling the delayed purchases outlined above. However, they have also noted that there are some needs the Department has which have not been prcvious included in the five-year plan and CLP, So, as we proceed with CIP development wc will have to carefully scrutinize our equipment plan, CONCLUSION The information in this memorandum is provided to assist the Mayor and City Council with thc decision rcgarding award of bid for the 2006 Pavement Management Project. The items idcntified in this memoraJ1dum will be considered by staff both in relation to the 2006 PMP project impact aJ1d also in terms of the overall CLP development and the impact on fund balances.
