<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~HILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />Position Title: <br />Department: <br />Accountable to: <br />Positions Supervised: <br />Status: <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Manager <br />Recreation Department <br />Public Works Director <br />Seasonal Recreation Staff Members <br />Full-Time, Exempt <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates City-wide recreation programs. <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br /> <br />Organizes, plans and implements all recreation programs including after school programs, <br />special events, youth programs including but not limited to baseball, t-ball, softball, soccer <br />leagues, ice skating programs, summer playgrounds, tennis, summer camps, sport skills <br />classes, adult programs, and the annual city festival. <br /> <br />Reviews and recommends fee structure for recreation programs based on instructor costs, <br />material costs, facility fees, and cost recovery policies. <br /> <br />Responsible for short and long term issues relating to parks and recreational areas and <br />facilities, including parks uses, acquisition, development of facilities; and recreation <br />program needs. <br /> <br />Responsible for the maintenance and operations program for City parks. <br /> <br />Assists Ihe Public Works Director with managing Park Fund capital improvement projects. <br /> <br />Assists the Public Works Director with reviewing, recommending, and managing park <br />maintenance expenditures <br /> <br />Prepares information for instructors, class lists, emergency procedures and building use <br />policies. <br /> <br />Responsible for new programs, registration information, and general department <br />information including brochures and/or press releases, <br />
