<br />Responsible for notifying registrants of program changes or cancellations. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Responsible for management and maintenance activities of warming houses and <br />personnel. <br /> <br />Prepares recommendations and develops recreation programs for future community <br />needs. <br /> <br />Provides information to the media, Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee and the <br />general public. <br /> <br />Attends City Council, PTRC, and other meetings as directed. <br /> <br />Speaks to community leaders and groups on recreation programs. <br /> <br />Prepares quarterly and annual reports on recreation program participation, budget status, <br />etc. <br /> <br />Prepares the annual Recreation Department budget and assists the Public Works Director <br />with preparing the annual Parks Department budget. <br /> <br />Assists Public Works Director in overseeing tree inventory, landscape maintenance and <br />related activities in parks or on public land. . <br /> <br />Responsible for the preparation of scheduled activities on fields/parks for maintenance, <br />special equipment or set up, <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Directly supervises seasonal employees in the Recreation Department. Works closely <br />with the Public Works Director in providing work direction to the Public Works <br />Superintendent and Public Works maintenance workers, Carries out supervisory <br />responsibilities in accordance with City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities <br />include planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; and addressing <br />complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include the ability to effectively <br />recommend recruiting and hiring; rewarding and disciplining employees, promoting, <br />demoting, suspending and discharging of employees. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br />satisfactorily.
