Scope of Work: <br /> <br />The Contractor shall provide the following "Services" to BCBSM, INC, dba Blue Cross <br />and Blue Shield of Minnesota ("BCBSM"): <br /> <br />A. Contractor will prepare a comprehensive plan for their community which will <br />incorporate "active living principles," including clear provisions and strategies for . <br />accommodating non-motorized transportation modes as their community develops, <br />Active living principles define a way of life that integrates physical activity into daily <br />routines, The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends 30 minutes of <br />moderately intense physical activity on five or more days per week, <br /> <br />2. Deliverables To Be Furnished by Contractor: <br />A. Contractor shall perform the followinG duties <br /> <br />1, Contractor will describe the process for updating its Comprehensive Plan by <br />December 31,2007, The contractor's work will be consistent with its work plan, <br />attached hereto as Appendix 8, which by this reference becomes a part of this <br />Agreement. The resulting comprehensive plan will explicitly address the <br />community's strategies for accommodating non-motorized transportation modes <br />and other characteristics (zoning revisions, density guidelines, etc,) that are <br />consistent with "active living principles," This is expected to include a "complete <br />streets" policy, Complete Streets are designed and operated to enable safe <br />access for all users, Pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and bus riders of all ages <br />and abilities are able to safely move along and across a complete street. <br /> <br />2, Contractor will send one or more staff to participate in educational sessions to be <br />arranged by the Metropolitan Design Center of the University of Minnesota, <br /> <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br />. <br />
