<br />Minutes of the Regular Council <br />Meeting <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />June 28, 1971 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Petition for Water Improvement <br />Engineer Lund reported that a petition from residents of Hamline <br />Avenue, dated June 14, 1971, requesting an extension of Water <br />Improvement 71-1 contained only about 25% of the property owners. <br />L. Stromquist to Inform the residents of the Insufficiency of the <br />petitIon. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN HOLLENHORST - Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />Property Easement - International Paper Co. <br />J. Hollenhorst reported briefly on his negotiations with International <br />Paper Co. for Village acqulsltlonCof a property strip eventually <br />needed for a municipal water system. <br /> <br />1971 PlannlnQ Budqet <br />Motion was made by J. Hollenhorst, seconded by E. G. Henderson, that <br />Resolution NO.~30, authorizing an additional allotment of $2,000 <br />to the 1971 Planning Budget was approved: In favor - Mayor Crepeau, <br />J.Hollenhorst and E. G. Henderson; opposed - R. Herrick; motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Resolution No. 9-721 <br />J. Hollenhorst briefly reviewed the Ramsey County Board Resolution <br />No. 9-721, approved June 21, 1971. The Resolution relates to drain- <br />age Into lakes. ponds and ditches. It wIll regulate drainage put <br />Into such drainage areas by new commercial and Industrial develop- <br />ment and will regulate degree of pollutant which can pass through <br />the storm sewers leading to them. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Vlllaqe Treasurer <br />Mayor Crepeau Introduced Mr. Richard M. O'Kelly and reported that <br />Mr. O'Kelly has been appointed by the Council to complete the unful- <br />filled term of former Treasurer Worth G. Read." . <br /> <br />Treasurer O'Kelly reported that he met with Village Auditor Matllla. <br />A simple system for keeping Village Treasurer records was set up <br />so that these records can be keptat the Village Hall by a member of <br />the administrative staff designated by L. Stromquist, such employee <br />TO be under the dIrection of Treasurer O;Kelly while performing the <br />bookkeeping duties of the treasurer. A meetIng for the purpose of <br />setting up the books and posting records for the month of June 1971 <br />was scheduled by Mr. O'Kelly for Wednesday, July 7 at 8:00 p.m. at <br />the Village Hall. <br /> <br />The Council aSked the Finance Committee for recommendations for a <br />deputy treasurer. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
