GRAY HENDERSON <br /> <br />Mr. Henderson reported a probable reductlon in the Metro Sewer Board <br />bill to Arden HIlls for 1972, from $92,679 to $79,~77. He stated <br />that Arden Hills Is In the process of appealIng both the 197rand.the <br />proposed 1972 charges made by the Sewer Board;: that he Is making some <br />progress with the protest and; wi I I contInue to work on the matter. <br />He reported briefly on a meeting held with St. Paul at which a suburban <br />advisory committee for Sewer DistrIct I was formed. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Use of Villaae Hal I for Group Meetinas <br />After discuSSion of the matter, the Counci I advised Clerk Admlntstrator <br />Stromquist that use of the Village Hall should be granted to local <br />VI I lage groups at such times that It is not scheduled for use by the <br />CounCil, JUstice of the Peace Courts, Village officials or Village <br />committees. Such groups Should be essentIally Arden Hills groups., 'O~ <br />Arden Hills residents. The use should be limited to occasional use, <br />rather than regular use; food and sales to be avoided due to ex~enslve <br />wear and tear on the building and eXCessive Janitorial services. <br /> <br />Treasurer O'Kelly recommended that Insurance coverage for such USe <br />be checked. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CCUNCILMAN STANLEY OLMEN <br /> <br />Sewaae Lift Stations 63 and 64 <br />Mr. Olmen advised the Council that mechanical seals are to.be Installed <br />in 11ft stations #3 and #4 at a cost estimated at $1200 for the two <br />stations. This will leave three older stations built of eoncrete which <br />remain without mechanical seals. <br /> <br />Village Vehicle Servicing <br />The Council agreed to the recommendation that Mobile Services, Ine. <br />perform on the site repair services for maintenance department trucks. <br />on a six-month trial basis. <br /> <br />Thank You Letter <br />Mayor Crepeau reported that he '1111 I send a "thank you" letter to former <br />Public Works Chairman James Kemper, for his services to the VIllage. <br /> <br />~ntenan~e Department EmQloyee <br />Motion was made by Dlmen. seconded by Hollenhorst, that Steve Ge.ke be <br />hired on a part-time basis from September 13, 1971 through September 28, <br />1971, for sanitary Sewer flushing work, at a rate of $2.75 per hour. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Village Utility Committee <br />Motion was made by Olme~, seconded by Henderson, that Mr. Roger Rei ling <br />be appointed as a member of the Utility Committee, In accordance with <br />Village Ordinance No. 145. Motion carried unanimously. The other two <br />committee members are Engineer Donald Lund iIInd Code Enforcement Officer <br />'Lawrence Squires. <br /> <br />EPORT OF COUNC I L~lAN RONA LO HERR ICK <br /> <br />Charles Perry Park Improvement <br />Motion was. made by Herrick, seconded by Hollenhorst, that the bid for <br />the Charles Perry Park Improvement, In the amount of $77,087.45, be <br />awarded to the Belair Construction Company. <br /> <br />Motion was amended by HOllenhorst. seconded by Herrick, that the above <br />bid be awarded to Belair Construction Company. providing the Village <br />of Arden Hills receives, and the Village Attorney approves, a doeument <br />from the BelaIr Construction Company, stating that Arden Hills will not <br />receive a damage claim at a later date, stating that the company was <br />delayed on the project in any way by the Village. Motion on the amend- <br />ment was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />~ <br />
