<br />, <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page three <br /> <br />March 8, 1971 <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD LUND <br /> <br />Sewer Improvement 16 and Water Improvement 70-1 - Bid Tabul~tlon <br />Engineer Lund presented the Bid Tabulation for Sewer Improvement 16 <br />and Water Improvement No. 70-1, recommendIng that the bid be awarded <br />to the low bidder, Shafer, Inc. <br /> <br />After a brief review of the Shafer, Inc. Bid and Bid Bond, Attorney <br />Courtney stated that they appear to be In proper form and properly <br />executed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />After consideration of the Bid Tabulation, It was moved by J. <br />Hollenhorst and seconded by R. Herrick, that the Council accept the <br />low bid, awarding the bid to Shafer, Inc., In the amount of $32,619.25_ <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Lift Station Guard Cover - Authorization of Purchase <br />Engineer Lund requested Council authorization for the purchase and <br />Installation of two pump shaft guard covers, costing $267.00, for <br />Sewer Lift Station under construction by Lamett! and Sons, on Old <br />Highway 10; advising that they were omitted from the original specifi- <br />cations and not bid with the job. <br /> <br />E. G. Henderson moved that the Council approve the $267.00 expendi- <br />ture for the purchase and Installation of two pump shaft covers, as <br />described by Engineer Lund. Motion carrlsd unanimOUSly. <br /> <br />State Aid StrQet Fund <br />Engineer Lund advised the Council that the Highway Department has <br />Indicated that $3,375.00, of the Arden HIlls State AId Street <br />ConstructIon Fund, may be allocated for road maintenance; advising <br />the Council that this Is not an official approval at this time, but <br />an indication of Intent. (Copy of Highway Department letter to be <br />sent to L. Stromquist by Engineer Lund.) <br /> <br />Highway Improvement Plans - Ramsey County <br />After review of amended Snelling Avenue and County RoadE Improve- <br />ment Plans, submitted by Ramsey County, the Council requested Engineer <br />Lund to discuss the proposed Improvements with Ramsey County Engineer <br />Floyd Snyker, communicating the Council's concern in various areas. <br /> <br />A report from Engineer Lund re his meeting wIth Engineer Snyker to <br />be submitted to the Council. <br /> <br />REPORT OF COUNCILMAN JOHN HOLLENHORST - Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />Mr. Rod Schumacher presented the Planning CommissIon Report to the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Case No. 70-30. Special Use Permit - Bussard Addition <br />R. Schumcaher reported that the Planning Commission recommends approval <br />of the amended preliminary "Bussard Addition" plat plan, subject <br />to verification by Engineer Lund that al,. recommended changes in the <br />Engineer's lett~r .of,$ebruary Z6. 1971, are Incorporated In the <br />~~ended pla'ns, and that all the lots meet the 14,000 square foot <br />.... minimum lot size requirement. <br /> <br />Engineer Lund advised the Council that lots 5 and 6 are under the, <br />14,000 square foot minimum requirement - lot 5 being 13,950 sq. ft. and <br />lot 6 being 13,375 sq. ft; stating that all other recommendations <br />are incorporated In the amended plan. <br /> <br />After review of the plans, It was moved by J. Hollenhorst and seconded <br />by S. Olmen, that the preliminary "Bussard Addition" plat be approved, <br />subject to revision of the westerly lot 6 lot line to provide lot 6 <br />with the minimum 14,000 square feet; approving lot 5 with 13,950 square <br />feet.
