Commissioncr Larson stated high water being fiftccn feet from the <br />lakc was not an usual condition. <br />Chair Sand opened the public hearing at 7: 12 p.m. <br />Chair Sand invitcd anyone for or against thc rcquest to come forward and make <br />comment. <br />John and Jeri Huyett, 3203 Shorewood Drive, stated thcy have been working with staff <br />for about three months and hc belicvcd what they wcre planning to do would enhancc the <br />propcrty. Hc statcd they had spoken with their neighbors and they were in agrccment <br />with this projcct. . <br />Commissioncr Larson asked if they knew about the encroachment on thc drainagc <br />cascment when they purchascd the property. Mr.Huyctt rcsponded he did not bclieve hc <br />kncw about it, but it might have bcen discllssed in his title search. <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stat cd he was imprcssed with this projcct and he believcd it <br />fit with thc cxisting home. <br />Mr. Huyett notcd they have alrcady contactcd Rice Creek Watcrshcd District and \vere <br />working through their approval process. <br />Chair Sand closcd the public hcaring at 7:21 p.m. <br />Commissioncr Zimmcnllan movcd, seconded by Commissioner Modcsette to recommend <br />approval of Planning Casc No. 06-035, John & Jeri Huyett, request tor a variance to <br />construct a 411 square foot addition to the front side of thc cxisting homc at 3203 <br />Shorewood Drive, subject to the threc conditions as outlined in staff's December 27, <br />2006 report and based on the Findings off-act in starf's Decembcr 27.2006 report. <br />The motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> \)~~f"\ . <br />
