. ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION - JANUARY 10,2007 3
. 1JN:FINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS
A. FENCE REGULATIONS
Mr. Lehnhoff stated when thc Zoning Code was updated in Novcmber 2006, the requiremcnts for
fcnces to be at least thirty percent open was removed. Section 1325.05 Subd of the Zoning Code
lists the full fence regulations.
After that changc was made, the City received a letter from Kathy Nelson of 3475 Siems Court.
That letter was a request for the City to consider reinstating the thirty percent openness
requirement for fences between residcntial prope11ies. The resident does not have a concern with
fences adjacent to busy streets.
He indicated the Planning Commission or City Council can direct staff to prepare language and
post a public hearing for a Zoning Code amendment. Since the submitted letter did not include
an official application for a Zoning Code amendment, no action is required unless the Planning
Commission wants staff to prepare language for a code amendment.
The Planning Commission chose not to pursue any action regarding the fence regulations at this
timc.
B. 2006 PLANNING CASE YEAR IN REVIEW
.
