The inspection revealed that you have one tree(s) on your propcrty that have Dutch Elm Disease. The tree(s) have been clearly marked with a red paint stripe. The City's intention for this program is to proactivcly reducc the spread of the disease through thc City of Arden Hills. Tree Removal Ol>tions for the Property Owner . Property owner removes or contracts out the tree removal at his/her own expensc. . Property owner rcquests to have the City's contractor remove the trec at his/her own cxpense. Please contact City Hall at 65 I -634-5120 for more information regarding this option. * Arden Hills rcsidents may requcst that a laboratory test be completed on one or more trees that have becn marked for removal. The property owner must request in writing to the City that the tree(s) be . testel~ no latcr than the date on \~hich ~he trec(s) or diseased wo~d is schcduled to be remov:d from thc premIse. All laboratory trce testmg will be completed by the Mmnesota Department of Agnculture or a qualificd laboratory. If the testing confim1s the original diagnosis that the tree is infccted with a shadc tree diseasc, the property owner will be responsible for all expenses incurrcd for the analysis completed by the City. If the test discloses that the tree or wood was not diseascd, the City shall bear the entirc laboratory testing costs and the tree(s) will be removed from the diseased trce listing. All marked discascd trees must be removed by the property owner within ten days after receiving a certificd letter from the City that the tree(s) must be removed. All properties will be re-inspected after the property owner has been notified by Ihe City. If the tree(s) is not removed within 30 days the notice datc, the City of Arden Hills will initiate the removal and disposal of all standing, marked, diseased trees and the total costs will be billed or assessed to the property owner.
