The inspection revcaled that you have two tree(s) on your property that have Dutch Elm Disease. The trec(s) have been clearly marked with a rcd paint stripe. The City's intention fi,lr this program is to proactivcJy reduce the spread of the disease through the City of Arden Hills. Tree Removal Options for the Property Owner . Property owner removes or contracts out the trec removal at his/her own expcnse. . Property o\vner rcquests to have the City's contractor removc the tree at his/her own expense. Please contact City Hall at 651-634-5120 for more infonnation regarding this option. * Ardcn Hills residents may request that a laboratory tcst be completed on one or more trees that have been marked for removal. The property owner must rcqucst in writing to the City that the tree(s) be . tested no later than the date on which the trec(s) or diseased wood is scheduled to be removed from the premisc. All laboratory tree testing will he completed hy the Minnesota Department of Agriculture or a qualified laboratory. Ifthc testing confirms the original diagnosis that the tree is infected with a shade tree disease, the property owner will be responsible for all expenses incurred for the analysis completed by the City. If the test discloses that the tree or wood was not diseased, the City shall bear the entire laboratory testing costs and the tree(s) will be removed from the diseased tree listing. All marked diseased trccs mllst be removed by the property owner within ten days after rceciving a certified letter from the City that the trcc(s) must he removed. All properties will be re-inspected after the property owner has becn notified by the City. If the trce(s) is not removed within 30 days thc notiee date, the City of Arden Hills will initiatc the removal and disposal of all standing, marked, discased trees and the total costs will be billed or assessed to the property owner.
