City' of Ardcn Hills has rctained the film of Abdo, Eick and Meycrs as City Auditor for <br /> man)' years (approximately tcn years). The City also contraets with othcr firms for a variety of <br /> professional services such as engineering and legal services. The City Council and stall have <br /> discllssed the need to periodically conduct a request-lor-proposals (RFP) process for profcssional <br /> sen'jces, as a due diligcncc procedure. This helps the starr and electcd officials fccl comfortable <br /> that \ve arc recei ving good services ror good value. In 2006 (tor the year cnding December 31, <br />. 2(05) \\-e spent j list undcr 531,000 for auditing services. <br /> I.ast summcr the City issued an RFP for profcssional auditing scrvices. We received five <br /> proposals. Stafr cvaluated the proposals and selected thrce firms as finalists. Those three finns <br /> \VlTC invited to give presentations to a selection committee. The selection committee consisted <br /> of [\[ayor Apliko\\'ski, Administrator Wolfe, Accounting Analyst Michelle Bruley, and Roseville <br /> Assistant Finance Director Brenda Davitt. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> On Wednesday, Octoher 18, the following finns gave formal presentations to the City's selection <br /> committee: <br /> 2006 Proposed Cost Total_Estimated 3- Year Cost <br /> KDV S27,500 $85,800 <br /> MMKR $24,750 $76,550 <br /> H LB Tautgcs Redpath $30,000 593,700 <br /> All three finns are very qualified to provide profcssional auditing services to the City of Arden <br /> I (ills. The sclcction committee concluded that since all three firms are vcry qualified and all <br /> would be able to providc excellent service to the City, we would recommend the lowest-cost <br /> proposal. <br />. <br />
