Ultimate VISion for Arden Hills - The Cambridge MA of the Midwest!
o Strong academic values
o Pedestrian activity and neighborhood coffee shops
o Strong corporate identities (leaders in technology, industry and values)
o A place to grow, live and retire

LONG TERM GOALS: 2015
Selected And Ranked By Council
From the pre-retreat survey. 0 master list of goals was presented to the group. Each council
member hod five votes to select their top goals. Staff members present did not vote. as goal
setting is a primary function of the City Council. The results are outlined below. The Mayor has
indicated that the he will assign one of the top five goals to each council member to "wordsmith"
or edit so the Long Term Goals con be finalized by the council.

1. TCAAP:

a. That it be running in 0 positive financial position, with development values that
match City desires. By 2015 TCAAP should be on a well-defined path to
completion. (Stan), (3)
b. Complete development of TCAAP property with acceptable density, limited
public financing, and sufficient open space. (Fran) (1)
c. TCAAP is no longer under any public financing, Rood index is 65 or above. City still
has the some community feel to it and trees are still around. City is not overbuilt
and there is a tie between the new development and current City. Want the
TCAAP building to hove 0 small impact on current residents (traffic, taxes,). [Fran)
(1)

2. Transportation: Making sure that Arden Hills does not get "Iock-ed in" by major transportation
arteries. It would be too easy to hove freeways leave the City with dead-end roods and large
sound barriers [Stan, David) (5)

3. Financing:
a. Implemented financial strategies that continue AH's long tradition of low debt
and consistently low tax rote and tax levy increases.
b. Continue to hove the City operate in the most financially and efficient manner to
ensure that the Arden Hills tax payers are receiving the best possible services for
their tax dollars.
c.
