Discussed aspect of Child Care use by non-NWC parents is actually <br />a form of the College's ministry and outreach. <br />9. Note that State Licensing laws have changed, where previously <br />'Birth through Grade 3' was not part of Child Development. This <br />will affect student's educational program, which will likely have <br />significant space impacts. <br />10. There is a desire to also accept Infants at the Center so that student <br />will receive full -spectrum of chilled development. Lack of space <br />currently prohibits this. <br />11. Discussed possibility of moving Child Development Lab into Radio <br />Building when constructed. Lab would still be close to inter -gener- <br />ational facilities at Presbyterian Homes. <br />Education 1. <br />Health Education potential future major? (currently Minor: licens- <br />ing at State level) How would it affect 2400 FTE limit? Where <br />would space be available? Kinesiology only program not leading <br />to licensing. <br />2. <br />Fall 2000 FTE = 461 and Fall 2005 projections indicate 525. What <br />does this do to 1,600 FTE campus max? <br />3. <br />Adding two faculty next year; adding one office person. <br />4. <br />Need for large group meeting spaces in Spring when Student Teach- <br />ers meet as group; 65-70 students; not formal lecture — need layout <br />space (portfolios, etc.). Frequency? Blue Room a potential? <br />5. <br />Elementary Art going to two sections; desire to meet in Art area; <br />need computer lab. <br />6. <br />Dedicated computer lab; Tech Lab uses Mac Lab; content specific; <br />dedicated software; CD-ROM tower. <br />7. <br />State of Minnesota records filing requirements up to 10 years; verify <br />time period; may be a storage equipment issue. <br />8. <br />Need access to records for Student Teaching documentation. <br />9. <br />Confidentially an issue when Work Study are in Work Room. <br />10. <br />Methods courses need "Demo Classroom" or Seminar type space; <br />"dedicated classroom' for work materials.; need Web access; could <br />be combined with ESL which also needs materials in dedicated <br />classroom. <br />11. <br />Music Ed puts pressure on Music Department's MIDI Lab; practice <br />rooms also. <br />English 1. Office space a premium; need 1 FT and 1 PT. <br />2. Classrooms space shortage. <br />3. Expressed need for large classroom for department chapel or whole <br />department events. (Policy development needs to review this issue <br />within context of whole campus.) <br />4. Transfer classes increasing in size from 6 up to 12 — no longer can <br />meet in faculty office.
