(proportional
reduction)
16 The college should develop a policy for "land banking' property
and acquiring/ renting facilities (interim use as 'stop gap' or long
term). The college needs to proactively monitor and pursue
desirable and potentially available property and facilities. As
property or facilities become available, the college should be pre-
pared to acquire desirable land and facilities in accordance with
an established priority and availability of financial resources,
including the use of strategic partnerships and alliances.
17 Strongly support Alternative Education, as this is a potential area
of significant growth and income.
18 Periodic Review and Monitoring Implementation of Campus
Master Plan:
Successful operation of an organization is always based on plan-
ning. Planning can be effective only if it is implemented. Imple-
mentation requires an organized effort, which sets the action
steps required to put the plan's recommendations into practice...
into motion. It also reviews the Master Plan in context and moni-
tors the achievements and accomplishments of the goals identi-
fied during the planning process. Among the effective working
tools of plan implementation are:
a. Setting up specific dates to meet and review
b. Designating accountable supervisors
c. Reporting progress on the progress of implementation
d. These supervisors (leading officers of the institution), should
develop detailed plans and strategies to achieve each goal/
objective and each recommendation.
e. Major reviews and reports devoted to implementation should
occur yearly. Quarterly meetings are recommended to exam-
ine the goals and objectives, and monitor action plans.
f. Information packets on the plan upgrades should be distrib-
uted to inform the NWC'community'.
IMAGE
19 Develop a Campus Entrance Plan as part of the new develop-
ment, and enhance the feeling of arrival for the visitor, through
both exterior and interior treatment of spaces.
