APPENDIX C The food service area has a space shortage. Recommenda- tions from the study include expanding the dining room area, change dining eating time and chapel time. The bookstore could be bigger. Lounges - Although adequate total square footage of lounge space is provided, it would be desirable to have a higher percentage of total lounge space. The committee discussed what other colleges have as a student center or student union and thought they should consider this as a possibility, but would like to hear ideas from Monica Groves. Parking - The committee questioned if there was enough parking on campus for 1600 FTE. Phil reported there are around 1,000 parking spaces and the College purchased a bus for the shuttle service. About 2 years ago, Bethel decided that freshman couldn't have a car on campus unless they worked. Larry made a few comments and emphasized the College's= mission will affect how we want to use our space. The minutes from the June 14, 2001 meeting were approved with a minor change. The minuets indicated R116 as a storeroom but it should read N136 as a storeroom. Note: Hal Miller stated it is ok for the committee members to share this information with other people.
