- Reynolds field, Ericksen center, Tennis courts, Riley gym
and soccer field.
The soccer teams use a field located by Presbyterian Homes.
If Presbyterian Homes decides to expand, there would be a
huge concern for a soccer field.
Tennis courts are excellent. The College doesn't always
use 6 courts.
Riley gym is used for intramurals.
Reynolds field will need to be re -done in the future.
- Last season, 31 contests were held on the field. Most
colleges have two separate fields for soccer and football.
- There are no lights on the fields so this is a concern if
the school day is extended. Installing lights on the field
would help student not miss class during the day.
- One option when redoing the field is to install SprinTurf.
It is a less expensive and a better alternative than
turf. (see handout)
A recreation/student center could serve the needs of the
students. It could hold a recreational area, dining lounges.
Discussion: Larry brought up that it would be beneficial to
consolidate the dining areas to one central location.
7. Science and Mathematics Handout: Dr. Jerry Beilby, Dept.
Chair for Science & Math gave his report.
The development of programs will be in quality once we
reach 1600 FTE.
See page 2 of handout for space requirement bases on
program developments.
Nature Trail on campus is a wonderful resource and outdoor
classroom.
Note: Larry Page will check on what other colleges have
considered as a plateau number.
We will finish the rest of the reports at the next meeting on
Thursday, June 28 at 9:00 a.m. in the BRC - A.
28 June 2001
MEMO TO: Campus Master Plan Committee
FROM: Kay Stroyny, Committee Secretary
DATE: June 29, 2001
SUBJECT: Minutes from June 28, 2001 meeting
Present: Dr. Hal Miller, Dr. Barb Lindman, Dr. Gerry
Bouma, Jane Goedeke; Phil Lacher, Dr. Doug
Huffman, Kay Stroyny, Monica Groves, Dale Sol -
NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE CAMPUS MASTER PLAN PARTNERS & SIRNY ARCHITECTS APP C.7
