You <br />don't need to be thinking architecturally but sketch out what <br />needs to be in the building and what maybe involved. <br />17 July 2001 <br />MEMO TO: Campus Master Plan Committee <br />FROM: Kay Stroyny, Committee Secretary <br />DATE: July 17, 2001 <br />SUBJECT: Minutes from July 17, 2001 meeting <br />Present: Dr. Hal Miller, Dr. Barb Lindman, Matt Hill, Dr. <br />Tim Tomlinson, Dr. Susan Johnson, Monica Groves, <br />Steve Morrow, Kay Stroyny, Mark Baden and Dr. <br />Jerry Beilby <br />Absent: Dr. Gerry Bouma, Jane Goedeke, Phil Lacher, Dr. <br />Doug Huffman, and Dale Solberg <br />Visitor: Larry Page <br />The minutes from June 28, 2001 were approved as submitted. <br />Doug Huffman's report was handed out to the committee to <br />review. <br />Department of Education Space Needs Handout: Dr. Susan <br />Johnson gave her report and noted the following items. <br />The following presuppositions were added for the dept. of <br />education. <br />- Upper methods courses are estimated at the current limit <br />of 20 students. <br />- Education core classes estimated at current limit of 25 <br />students. <br />- Classrooms for methodology courses need to be set up <br />with tables. <br />- Education courses cannot be limited to 8 - 3 p.m. <br />They also have days off -campus for cooperating school <br />placements. <br />General Purpose Classroom <br />- There has been a 23% growth rate in the education dept. <br />- We will need the ability to schedule at least 10 sections of <br />classes per term in a computer lab. <br />- The Riley gym is currently a back up space for activities. <br />- The Blue Room and Youderian Lounge have also been used <br />but scheduling is difficult and unreliable do to events. <br />Specialized Classrooms <br />- We currently have 3 classrooms designated for elementary <br />NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE CAMPUS MASTER PLAN PARTNERS & SIRNY ARCHITECTS APP C.12 <br />
