APPENDIX]ff C l
education/ESL/general methods. Two more additional class-
rooms are needed for . a total of 5 classrooms.
Faculty Offices
- Recommend an additional 5 full-time offices and 4 part-time
offices
- The education office is required to keep licensure files on
each student, so additional space is needed for storing
files.
Child Development Center
- Recommends assigning 3 offices in the new media building.
One for the director and 2 offices for full time teachers.
Plus having a conference space in the new media building.
Discussion: Hal Miller mentioned they have to be carefully
when designating a lot of offices in the new media building
due to parking issues.
Student Development Handout:
Monica reported ideas for adding a new service building
on campus. It would be ideal to have it in the center
of campus.
Option One:
A building between Riley and the dorms that would contain
the service offices, campus dining and could be connected
with a field house. It would be ideal to have only one
cafe on campus. It would be easier for trucks to deliver
to the cafe if the main road was moved. Parking would
be a big issue especially if there is a main entrance to
this building.
Option 2:
A separate building between Riley and Nazareth containing
the cafe and services offices.
Discussion: Larry mentioned if the main road route were
changed it would keep the center of the campus pedestrian
friendly. The PUD footprints of the dormitory would mainly
affect the placing of the field house. Classroom space could
be available in the building. Monica mentioned the admissions
office should be more accessible on campus. Larry mentioned
this would draw more traffic to the area and could be a
problem. He suggested a separate building would be a better
option. The cafeteria could be on the second floor and would
have a better view.
Athletic Handout:
Matt's idea is to build a field house where the tennis courts
are located. This is assuming the Riley gym is decked for
classroom and faculty offices.
The field house could be connected to the service building.
NORTHWESTERN COLLEGE CAMPUS MASTER PLAN PARTNERS & SIRNY ARCHITECTS APP C.13
