Information Technologies: Vertical storage space is needed in the media building for I.T. Eventually more office space will be needed for the information system staff. The offices should be in close proximity of each other. New Service Building Discussion: It would be ideal to have all the service departments (financial aid, business office, bookstore, admissions, etc) together. A one-stop shop for students. The cafe area should be kept separate from the service area. The building would have meeting rooms not classrooms. There is some concern for having only one kitchen on campus and that it would be in a separate building away from the Blue Room. - The blue room could have a warming kitchen, however the quality of food may suffer. - The Nazareth infill building would eliminate the kitchen dilemma. - Larry mentioned by adding the infill it will change the ascetics of the building. Students may need more time to pass between classes depending where this building is located. Parking would be a problem if the building were built between the dorms and Riley. Decking Riley would cost $1.5 million and would gain 11,000 square feet. - There would be more activity on that side of campus if the Riley gym were decked. - The ALFA center and music practice rooms could be moved to the 2nd floor of the gym. - Matt mentioned that the athletic department would have to cut back on activities if the gym was decked.
