ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION — MAY 71) 2008 4 <br />Commissioner Holewa inquired about the location of the meetings. Mr. Hanton stated <br />that they were held at the school. <br />Commissioner Holewa suggested an annual or semi-annual meeting with the school. <br />Chair Larson stated that the use of a shipping container for storage would not be <br />permitted. Ms. Beekman stated that it wouldn't be permitted. <br />Commissioner Zimmerman inquired if a storage shed or a scoreboard would require the <br />school to come back. Ms. Beekman stated the shed would not, but she wasn't sure if the <br />scoreboard would. <br />Bob Madison, activities director at Mounds view High School, stated he appreciates the <br />dialogue with the neighbors. He stated they would like a mobile or a portable scoreboard. <br />He stated there may be more issues that arise. <br />Commissioner Zimmerman inquired if the ball field would be on the southwest corner. <br />Mr. Madison stated that it would be located on the southwest corner. <br />Commissioner Zimmerman noted that there was a typo that states that it would be in the <br />southeast corner. <br />Commissioner Holewa stated that he was concerned about the dugouts being misused if <br />they are not secure. Mr. Madison stated if they were closed from the front, people could <br />go behind them. He stated that openings in the front of the dugouts allow staff to see in <br />them. He stated that the school is concerned about inappropriate activities occurring on <br />the school grounds and they do the best to educate the students about those situations. <br />Commissioner Holewa inquired about how the school would address appropriate use of <br />the dugouts. Mr. Madison stated that they would be for baseball use only. <br />Commissioner Zimmerman inquired if there have been any problems with vandalism <br />with the football field. Mr. Madison stated that there hasn't been. <br />Tim O'Malley, 1851 Gramsie Road, thanked the school for meeting with the neighbors <br />and stated he is in favor of the project as it is being presented. <br />Jon Ward, Director of Operations for Mounds view School District, stated that the held <br />will be rented out for community use during the summer and there will be the expectation <br />that the renters will follow the same guidelines as the school. <br />Chair Larson closed the public hearing at 7:00 p -m. <br />
