r <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> , UTILITIES § 28-58 <br /> For the lst quarter-June 1 <br /> For the 2nd quarter-September 1 <br /> For the 3rd quarter-December 1 <br /> For the 4th quarter-March 1 <br /> If the delinquency date falla on a nonbuainesa day for the <br /> city hall, the penalties ahall be impoaed on the nert busineas <br /> day, but firat crediting payments received on that day. <br /> (b) Ezcept es provided in paragraph (f) hereof, the <br /> aforesaid delinquency penalty ahall be impoaed upon and <br /> added to all unpaid water bills by the clerk-administrator <br /> and mailed in the usual courae at the neat regular billing <br /> date, showing in the same bill the current billing; e.g., July <br /> 20, after the first penalty date. <br /> (c) The council has noted that under section 28-57 hereof <br /> I bills are due at the end of the billing month, and <br /> accordingly the delinquency charge hereunder will be <br /> imposed more than a month after the due date of a billing. <br /> (d) Any amounts due for water chargea hereunder may be <br /> collected in a civil action brought for that purpose in the name ~ <br /> of the city; or the clerk-adminiatrator, upon direction t6ereon 1 <br /> by the council, may certify to the county department of <br /> property tagation the amount due, together with the legal de- ~ <br /> scription of the premises served, and the clerk-adminiatrator, <br /> in so certifying, shall add to such amount as a separate item, <br /> in addition to the delinquency penalty hereinbefore provided, <br /> an additional delinquency penalty of eight (8) per cent of the <br /> original unpaid amount, inclusive of any previous delin- <br /> quency penalty. The county department of property tazation <br /> shall thereupon enter such amount as part of the taz levied <br /> on said premises to be collected' during the ensuing year. No <br /> additional delinquency penaltiea hereunder shall be added to <br /> unpaid bills after certification to the county department of <br /> property tazation as provided herein. To avoid impoeition of <br /> this additfonal delinquency penalty, payment in full of the <br /> unpaid .water bill and the original or previous delinquency <br /> penalty must be received by the clerk administrator no later <br /> than October 5.
