Purpose. <br /> <br /> The council believes that in the public interest or sound <br /> long-range planning it should promote the underground <br /> installations of utility distribution lines in cases of original <br /> installations of substantial alteration of existing lines. (Ord. <br /> No. 145, § 1.0, 6-14-71) <br /> ~ Sec. 28-I53. acope. <br /> The provisions of this article apply to public utility linea <br /> designed and conatructed to distribute utility services to <br /> customers in the city, but does not require underground <br /> installation of appurtenant facilities such as lift stationa, <br /> fire plugs, metera, tranaformera, pedestals, and the like. <br /> (Ord. New developraents. <br /> (a) All new electric distribution lines (excluding main line <br /> feeders and high voltage transmisaion lines), telephone <br /> service lines and services constructed and providing service <br /> to customers ahall be buried underground.
