. SECTION VIII_ APPLICATION* PERMIT. AND VARIANCf PROCFDURES ' A. Sign Permits 1. Appl ication Procedure a. Any person propasing to erect, pl nce, reconstrutt. alter, or relocate any sign except those listed in Section III-A1 sha11 make appiication for a sign permit. b. The application sha)1 be submitted on forms prescribed or requfred by the Administrator and shall be accompanied by the following information plus whatever additional information or documenta- tion the Administrator shall require: (i) The dimensions of the sign and, where applicable, the dimensions of the wal] surface of the bullding to which it is to be attached. ffl The maximum height and c]earance of the sign, . The proposed location of the sign in relation to the face of the building, in front of which or above whi ch i t i s to' be e rected. (4) The proposed location of the sign in relation to the boundaries of the iot upon which it is ta be situated. (5) If the sign is to be illuminated , the technical means by which this is to be accomplished. (6) Where the sign is to be attached to an existing building, a description or photograph of the face of the building to which the sign is to be attached. (7) The name and address of the user of the sign and the location of the sign. 2. Issuance of Sign Pe rmit a. Upon fi2,ing of an app]ication, the Administrator shall examine the plans and accompanying data and determine if it is in compliance with the provisions of this Ordinance. If it is found to be in conformance, the Administrator shall issue the requested sign permit for signs not requiring Council approval. b. For signs requiring Planning Comnission review and/or Council approval. the Administrator shall refer the application to the appropriate body. For signs requiring Planning Commissian review: the Building Permit procedure described in the Zoning Ordinance 7 of the City of Arden Hills sha71 be followed. Upon P]anning - ~ Comniss9on review and/or Council approva], the Administrator shall issue the requested sign permit. 3. Permit Fees a. An initial application fee shall be required with the application for any siyn permit. The amount of such fee shall be as established from time to time by resolu- tion adopted by the City Council. b. An annual sign permit fee shall be required for alI signs except the fallowinq: (1) Signs listed in Section III-A1 (2) Directional Signs . (3) Informational Signs The amount of said annual sign periuit fee shall be as established~from time to time by resolution adopted by the City Council. 16
