ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - June 30, 2008

3

Councilmember Holden asked what types of prizes the Ramsey County Sheriff s
Department was giving out and if the City would be providing any prizes.

Assistant City Administrator Simon stated that there would be passes for the
amusement park at the Mall of America available but at this time the City had not
determined what they would be doing for residents.

Mayor Harpstead stated that the Council would start with signing the
proclamation and then ask Staff to bring ideas back to the Council for review. He
also stated that former Councilmember Lois Rem was present with a request for
National Night Out.

Ms. Lois Rem, 1670 Glenview Court, and a volunteer at the local food shelf,
requested that the Council incorporate the collection of food donations as part of
National Night Out.

Mayor Harpstead stated that he liked this idea and felt that the City could find a
way to incorporate this into National Night Out.

Ms. Rem went over the process that the City of New Brighton has used in the past.

Mayor Harpstead thanked Ms. Rem for her presentation and the information. He
then reviewed the proclamation for the Council.

Councilmember Holden asked if it would be possible for the City to provide the
pickup and delivery of the food donations because it can be difficult for the
neighborhood captains to do this.

Assistant City Administrator Simon stated that he would bring additional
information and ideas to the Council for review.

D. TCAAP Update

City Administrator Moorse stated that on June 23, 2008 the Council had a special
work session to review the schedule of key topics to be addressed regarding
TCAAP in the coming months. He also stated that on June 26, 2008 he had taken a
tour of the TCAAP property.

Mayor Harpstead stated the Ramsey County trail is open at County Road I and
you could see parts of the TCAAP property from there.

Mayor Harpstead opened the public inquiries/informational at 7: 15 p.m.
