<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - July 28, 2008 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />the area has no known contamination and the County expects that all remediation <br />work is completed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes asked if the Rice Creek area had been turned over to the <br />County and if any of this area had been contaminated. <br /> <br />Mr. Moriarty stated that the area had been turned over to the County and that there <br />had been one area that had been contaminated but it had been cleaned up. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes asked if there were other areas that were being looked at <br />for contamination. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead clarified on the map the areas that were being discussed for the <br />Rice Creek North Regional Trail Wildlife Corridor Habitat Restoration Plan. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that the area contained an area of untouched oak <br />forest. <br /> <br />Mr. Moriarty stated that there was a small portion of oak forest on this portion of <br />land and that this is expected to increase when the restoration is complete. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes asked if the developer was expected to clean up the site <br />to a specific standard. <br /> <br />Mr. Moriarty stated that the County would not accept the land with contamination. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that the Army was providing funds or credit for <br />clean up on the site. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes asked who would be responsible for the clean up. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that the developer would be responsible. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmes asked if there would be trails located in this area. <br /> <br />Mr. Moriarty stated that there could be walking trails but that these trails cannot <br />impede on the movement of the wildlife. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead asked if this resolution would modify the 2003 resolution that <br />was already in place. <br />
