<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - December 8, 2008 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that she would like to add $37,000 for the Old <br />Snelling Trail study to the CIP Plan for 2009. This would allow Staff an <br />opportunity to continue to move forward with this project. <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that there needs to be offsets in the budget to <br />accommodate this figure. <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung asked what the source of funds would be for this <br />project. <br /> <br />Finance Director Iverson stated that the $37,000 would be taken from the Park <br />Revenue Fund. <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung asked if there was anything currently planned for the <br />Park Revenue Fund in the 2009 budget. He stated that there was $16,000 for the <br />Cummings Park irrigation project and the Hazelnut fence project for $16,500. <br /> <br />City Administrator Moorse asked if the funding for the Old Snelling Trail project <br />was shown in the 2010 budget amounts. The amount budgeted in 2010 includes <br />engineering and final construction. The engineering amount of $37,000 could be <br />removed from the 2010 budget amount and used in 2009. The funds are budgeted <br />in the CIP Plan but they are in the wrong year. <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung stated that there should be offsets for the engineering <br />costs in the 2009 budget. The Cummings Park Irrigation Project and the Hazelnut <br />Outfield Fence could be moved to a later year and these funds would almost cover <br />the funds required for the engineering costs for the Old Snelling trail project. <br /> <br />Finance Director Iverson stated that the Special Revenue Park Fund under the <br />Sources and Uses of Funds it does list the category under 2009. There was a total <br />of$157,395 in projects that would be done in 2009. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden stated that the Lexington Avenue Trail for $62,645 could <br />be a project where the City could get some partnership with area businesses. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead clarified that the amounts listed are the expenditures and do not <br />reflect the split of the sources offunds. <br /> <br />Finance Director Iverson stated that the amounts listed would be the part of the <br />funds that come from the Park Fund and the amounts listed are the City's portions. <br />
