General Zoning Regulations <br />A. Height — (Section 1325.09 Subd3) —Meets Requirements <br />According to the Zoning Code, no antenna or tower shall exceed a height of 75 feet. This <br />will be the height of the proposed tower. <br />B. Location — (Section 1325.09 Subd 4) <br />According to the Zoning Code, antennas and towers shall be located on sites or buildings <br />in areas that are least obtrusive to nearby properties and public streets. The proposed <br />tower will be located adjacent to one of the eastern parking lots, in a fairly wooded area <br />approximately 170 feet from the property line. Due to the rising topography eastward <br />(necessitating the retaining wall), the proposed tower is expected to be highly visible <br />from eastern portions of the campus due to its higher elevation. However, this slope <br />would also obscure visibility of the bottom of the proposed tower from adjacent <br />properties to the east, while a number of significant coniferous trees along Trunk <br />Highway 51 would provide additional screening. The greatest potential for direct <br />visibility outside of campus appears to be from the Trunk Highway 51 / Interstate 694 <br />intersection to the northeast (direct line of sight). Portions of the tower's apex may also <br />be visible from the industrial area to the east across Trunk Highway 51.
