3.3 Watermain Watermain along Valentine Avenue, Valentine Court, and Valentine Crest Road is approximately 40 years old. The City's Public Works Department has repaired watermain breaks at the intersection of ,Valentine Avenue and Valentine Court and up Valentine Court. There are corrosive soils near Valentine Lake that are weakening the existing iron pipe and causing breaks. The City has repaired lines in this area multiple times. Watermain along Janet Court, Katie Lane, and Katie Court is 20 to 30 years old and has not required repairs. The existing watermain types and sizes throughout the project area are as follows: Valentine Avenue Valentine Court Valentine Crest Road Janet Court Katie Lane Katie Court 12-inch DIP (ductile iron pipe) 6-inch CIP (cast iron pipe) 6-inch CIP 6-inch DIP 6-inch DIP 6-inch DIP The property at 4073 Valentine Court is on a private well. All other parcels are serviced with municipal water. 3.4 Sanitary Sewer Sanitary sewer along Valentine Avenue, Valentine Court, and Valentine Crest Road is 50 years old and has root intrusion and areas of sagging pipe. Sanitary sewer along Janet Court, Katie Lane, and Katie Court is 20 to 30 years old and is in fair condition based on televising tapes reviewed by City staff. The existing sanitary sewer types and sizes throughout the project area areas follows: Valentine Avenue Valentine Court Valentine Crest Road Janet Court Katie Lane Katie Court 8-inch VCP (clay pipe) 6-inch VCP 6-inch VCP 8-inch PVC (poly-vinyl/plastic) 8-inch PVC 8-inch PVC All adjacent parcels are serviced by municipal sanitary sewer. 3.5 Private Utilities There are various private utilities within the project area rights of way such as electric, gas, phone, and cable. A meeting will be held with the utility companies during the final design stage to coordinate utility conflicts and construction schedule.
