Bocce Golf Course Location Discussion <br /> Chair Peck questioned if the top of the hill at Tony Schmidt Park was a possibility. Mr. <br /> Baumann stated he did not consider this location, but could review the site on top of the hill as <br /> there was ample parking at this park. <br /> Council Liaison Holmes stated the golf course would become County property if it were added <br /> p Y <br /> to Tony Schmidt Park. <br /> Chair Peck called for a recommendation from the Committee. <br /> Ms. O'Malley suggested the Committee recommend the bocce golf course be moved to Ing erson <br /> Park and publicize the change to announce the added amenity to the residents. Chair Peck <br /> agreed. <br /> Mr. Baumann explained that bocce golf courses could be made on the City lakes during the <br /> winter time if it were to catch on and would allow for an additional winter activity. <br /> Ms. Olson questioned how much would be needed to build out a new bocce golf course. Mr. <br /> Baumann stated this would run$120 per hole or roughly$1,000. <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Straumann motioned to recommend the Council pursue a <br /> nine hole bocce golf course at Ingerson Park at a cost not to exceed $1,000, <br /> seconded by Committee Member O'Malley. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> C. Elmer L. Andersen Memorial Si na a— 11/30 Council Meetine Update <br /> Ms. Olson explained Derek attended the November 30th Council meeting where he presented the <br /> Elmer L. Andersen sign design. The Council was very impressed with the design of the two <br /> monumental signs and suggested the smaller signs be minimized to 2 or 3. Ms. Olson stated the <br /> City would be speaking with HB Fuller and the Elmer L. Andersen Foundation to see if they - <br /> would be willing to contribute funds to provide benches along the trail. <br /> Ms. Olson indicated she spoke with Ramsey County about the sign design and would be <br /> dropping off the model for them to review. The County will be reviewing �the design and is <br /> considering putting single pier signs at the Lake Johanna and County Road E2 entryways. <br /> Ms. Olson explained the Council did approve going forward with plans and specs on the si a <br /> P p gne.g <br /> The goal would be to have the signs installed in 2010. She noted Derek would continue with the <br /> sign specifics before the final design came back for the Committee to review. <br />
