ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL-July 13, 2009 11
Mr. Keeley reviewed the building materials and detailed where each material
would be used on the buildings. He also provided a detailed drawing for the
Council.
Councilmember Grant stated that there was masonry block being used. He asked
where on the building this would be located.
Mr. Keeley stated that this would be infill and used at the bottom of the building
and this was meant to be more of an accent.
Councilmember Grant asked if a person was looking at the building if it would
appear to be a traditional brick building.
Mr. Keeley stated that the facade would be primarily of brick. He stated that there
was no concrete block. There would be textural and color changes that gave each
space a slightly different look but still match each other.
Councilmember Grant asked how this Walgreen's building would compare to the
Walgreen's in Chanhassen.
Mr. Keeley provided the Council with pictures of the Walgreen's building in
Chanhassen for comparison.
Councilmember Grant asked if just the sill was pre-cast.
Mr. Keeley stated that this was correct.
Councilmember Grant asked City Planner Beekman to detail the agreement
regarding the future signal and intersection.
City Planner Beekman stated that the details were contained in Attachment B (the
Development Agreement), page 5. She stated that approval of Phase III is
contingent on the traffic signal being installed. She also pointed out that Paragraph
B outlines the costs sharing for the traffic signal.
Councilmember McClung asked City Planner Beekman to point out where 650
feet east of the intersection at County Road E would be located.
City Planner Beekman pointed out approximately where this would be on the
map.
