AR-DEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL-July 13, 2009 26 <br /> pathway through the property and causing erosion of a hillside and garden on the <br /> resident's property. To assist in determining a solution for this issue, Staff asked <br /> Bolton and Menk, Inc. to review the site and provide a scope of the services to <br /> prepare plans and specifications for a project. Bolton and Menk, Inc. submitted a <br /> proposal for a total lump sum of $4,900. After bids for this project are received, <br /> Staff will bring the project itself back to the City Council for final approval. The <br /> costs for this project will be paid for using Surface Water Management Funds. He <br /> provided photos of the site for the Council to review. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked when the photos had been taken. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that some of the photos had been taken as <br /> long as three weeks ago and some of them had been taken today. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that the home owner had placed forty to fifty bags <br /> of mulch in the area over the last couple of days. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that he was not sure when the mulch was put <br /> in place. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked why they were requesting a survey of the land from <br /> Bolton and Menk and not from Staff. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated hat the Roseville Engineering Staff did not <br /> have the capacity to do this project at this time. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that Staff could work on the preparation of <br /> specifications. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that and he and the Roseville Engineering <br /> Staff could work on plans and specifications. <br /> Mayor Harpstead asked if this was being requested because Staff was unsure of <br /> how they were going to fix the issue at this time. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that this was one of the issues. They needed <br /> to determine where the water was going so that they could come up with options on <br /> how to fix the problem. <br /> Mayor Harpstead stated that there was a design element involved as well <br /> Councilmember Grant asked for clarification on what was meant by survey. <br />
