AR-DEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL-July 13, 2009 27 <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that Bolton and Menk would prepare a <br /> contour map of the area to determine the flow and where it was going. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that the trail was having problems in a large area. <br /> She stated that when residents had problems or issues the City needed to respond in <br /> a timely manner. She asked why the City had waited for more than a year to <br /> address this issue. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that this had been brought before the Council <br /> last year and it was put into the budget for this year. <br /> Councilmember McClung pointed out that the project was in front of the Council <br /> now and they needed to be sure the problem was corrected. <br /> Councilmember Holden clarified that people were under the assumption that if <br /> this wasn't in the budget then the Council would not move it forward. <br /> Councilmember Grant stated that this project should have been moved forward <br /> last year. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated that the City needs to be clear that if they need to <br /> fix or maintain items then it should be done, even if the item is not in the budget. <br /> She suggested the City reimburse Mr. Nelson for the cost of the mulch that he put in <br /> place. <br /> Councilmember Grant stated that the City should have put the mulch down and <br /> fixed the problem last year. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Grant moved and Councilmember Holden <br /> seconded a motion to extend the meeting to 10:30 p.m. The motion <br /> carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> Councilmember Holmes stated that the study was going to cost $5,000. She asked <br /> if Staff would be able to make the necessary repairs once the problems had been <br /> identified. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that he would not be able to commit to this <br /> until he was aware of what the problems were. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked Mr. Nelson, the property owner, if he would have a <br /> problem with having retaining walls being put in place. <br />
