ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL August 30, 2010 14 <br />9. Council Comments and Requests (continued) <br />Councilmember Holden stated there were pot holes on Arden View Court. She asked if these <br />had been filled. <br />Public Works Director Maurer stated the pot holes that are in the area that is being looked at <br />with the mill and overlay project next year were not filled. <br />Councilmember Holden requested an updated report on the non compliant homes from the sump <br />pump program. <br />Public Works Director Maurer stated this list is being checked and updated and will be in the <br />next Admin Update. <br />Councilmember Holden asked if Staff had been able to identify the purple swamp vegetation and <br />if there were any measures being taken to control this weed. <br />Public Works Director Maurer stated in the past the City has not actively pursued removal of <br />the purple loose strife. He will look into the removal of this weed and also look around the rest of <br />the City to see if there is more. <br />Councilmember Grant asked for an update of the Safe Routes to School trail project. <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated all the paving and curbing is complete and the turf restoration, <br />seeding and grading is currently being done and should be completed this week. A majority of the <br />work will be done before school starts. <br />Councilmember Grant asked what residents could expect this fall and winter as things freeze, at <br />the intersection of Chatham and County Road E2. <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated the water accumulation has not been eliminated altogether but the <br />ponding will be less and should be out of the way of the trail and the intersection. <br />Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated the County will be painting cross walks before <br />school starts. <br />Councilmember Grant asked if there would be crossing guards. <br />Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated the Venus connection will have an adult crossing <br />guard. <br />City Administrator Klaers provided the Council with information that had been presented at the <br />Library Board meeting, including a report from the Library Director. He stated Presbyterian <br />Homes had conducted a couple of neighborhood meetings and intended to have a couple more <br />prior to the TIF public hearing. There is a neighborhood meeting open to the public on September <br />29, 2010. The library will launch a website on Tuesday to gather public comments for two weeks <br />
