Commissioner Holewa asked how many residents were currently on the property and <br />how many were being proposed. He asked if there would be an increase in traffic. <br />Ms. Belz stated currently there are 396 residents and the proposal would increase this to <br />410 residents. She explained that based on the traffic modeling and the types of facilities <br />being proposed this would only increase traffic by an average of 52 trips per day and this <br />was not considered a significant amount. <br />Commissioner Holewa stated that there were residents that are not happy about this <br />application but Presbyterian Homes has done a lot to meet the needs of the people and he <br />thanked them for this. <br />Commissioner Modesette stated the Planning Commission had received several letters <br />and e -mails concerning food preparation and Meals -On- Wheels at this location. She <br />asked if this was part of this proposal. <br />Mr. John Mehrkens, Presbyterian Homes, stated there were no intentions of having food <br />prepared at this site and transported to other sites. The intent was to have this facility <br />provide service for this facility only. <br />City Planner Beekman clarified there were no conditions in place to limit food <br />preparation to on site. <br />Chair Thompson recessed the Planning Commission at 7:10 p.m. to allow Commissioners <br />time to read e -mails received at the bench. <br />Chair Thompson reconvened the Planning Commission meeting at 7:13 p.m. <br />Chair Thompson opened the public hearing at 7:15 p.m. <br />Chair Thompson invited anyone for or against the application to come forward and make <br />comment. <br />Mr. Jim Day, 3242 Sandeen Road, Arden Hills, requested the parking space or lot next to <br />the loading dock be removed because of safety and noise issues. This parking lot is used <br />for dumpsters and employee cars and is a pick up and drops off area for employees. The <br />people that use this area are those that are speeding through the Sandeen neighborhood. <br />Mr. Paul Wallin, 3254 Sandeen Road, Arden Hills, stated he enjoys the trails at <br />Presbyterian Homes and on the campus but he is concerned about the safety of children <br />in this neighborhood. There are several incidences where employees are observed not <br />stopping at stop signs and speeding through the neighborhood. <br />Mr. Mark Momtillon, 3249 Sandeen Road, Arden Hills, expressed concerns about the <br />speed of Presbyterian Homes' employees going through the Sandeen neighborhood. He <br />stated there are burn out marks showing how fast some of these employees are going <br />
