racetrack. There are currently problems in this area and she asked that Presbyterian
Homes reconsider the location of this access.
Mr. Paul Rolvaag, 3260 Sandeen Road, stated Presbyterian Homes may be able to
provide some property that would make a cul -de -sac more feasible on Sandeen Road and
this would eliminate the traffic issues that the neighborhood is concerned about.
Mr. John Bell, 3 065 Shorewood Lane, Roseville, stated he was concerned about the
building being compatible with the area. He stated Presbyterian Homes owns other land
in the area and he recommended they consider moving this project to one of those
properties.
Mr. Thomas Lundberg, 3025 Wheeler Drive N., expressed concerns about traffic in this
area. He also stated that the soccer field was something the neighborhood enjoyed and
did not want to see removed. He asked if the entrance to Presbyterian Homes from
Wheeler could be designated as an emergency route only.
Chair Thompson asked if the City of Roseville had been asked about the amount of
traffic in the Wheeler area. She stated the traffic problems they are experiencing predate
the application being considered at this time.
Mr. Bill Brennom, 1776 Shorewood Curve, Roseville, stated he was concerned about the
children in the neighborhood and all the children in the surrounding neighborhoods
because he believes this project will increase the safety risks for these areas.
Ms. Anjali Srinand, 3101 Shorewood Lane, Roseville, stated this project directly affects
residents with driveways on Wheeler and increased traffic means increased crime.
Mr. Tim Callaghan, 3062 Shorewood Lane, Roseville, stated Presbyterian Homes had not
included his neighborhood in any of the neighborhood meetings. He stated connecting
the main part of Presbyterian Homes to Wheeler would increase traffic. He would like to
see the soccer field remain. He also stated the view from Shorewood Lane was not
shown.
Ms. Wendy Kingbay, Presbyterian Homes, read a letter from Gary Morin, a resident of
Presbyterian Homes, which outlined why he is in support of the project.
Ms. Julie Spiers, Presbyterian Homes, read a letter from Evelyn Strom, a resident of
Presbyterian Homes, which outlined why she supported the proposed project.
Mr. Bob Espeset, 3056 Shorewood Lane, Roseville, stated the neighborhood would like
to have been notified of the meetings. He recommended Presbyterian Homes reconfigure
the parking lot to allow for a flow of traffic that did not provide access to Wheeler. He
asked that the Planning Commission postpone making any decisions until the residents
had a chance to review the project and he encouraged the members of the Planning
Commission to visit the site before a vote was taken.
