Planning and Zoning Commission July 2, 2002 Meeting Minutes Commissioner DeVine indicated he did not think it would be any more than five years. Council Member Travis indicated there would be possible construction next year to the point just past the Dairy Queen. He then asked why access could not be taken off of Cedar. Mr. Evans asked what the plan for that small piece of property was. Commissioner Wilharber indicated it was a tax forfeited piece of property acquired by the City and there has been discussion of putting a water tower on it, turning it into a park and/or selling it but as of now there is no plan for it. Commissioner Wilharber indicated that Cedar is a gravel road and the citizens that live on it would be upset with heavy traffic. He also pointed out that Cedar is in Lino Lakes. The Commission agreed that the concept looked good and recommended working with City Staff to firm up the details and requirements. Mr. Thompson indicated their goal is to construct the 20,000 square foot building and work with Staff to develop a plan for the rest of the property. IV. PUBLIC HEARING(S) 1. Sheehy Construction Company Lot Split Request (20 Acre Parcel into 5 & 15 st Acre Parcels), 7047 South 21 Avenue. Chair Hanson opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. Larry Nielson, attorney for Mr. Sheehy was in attendance to answer any questions of the Commission. Commissioner Wilharber asked whether Staff had received any feedback from those noticed for the hearing. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she had not received any feedback on this matter. Council Member Travis asked if there were assessments against the property. Mr. Nielson indicated that there were assessments against the property and indicated that his client would like to have those split between the two parcels. Council Member Travis indicated that he did not think that the County would be willing to record the lot split until the assessments were paid. Page 4 of 7
