City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting <br />May 11, 2011 <br /> <br />Council Member Love desired to have it noted that this was a 21 and over event. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member King to <br />accept the anonymous donations and the Lions donation in the amount of $1,475 to <br />be utilized for offsetting expenditures associated with the Little League Baseball <br />Concessions. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member King to <br />approve the Centerville Lions Special Event Permit Request and Temporary On- <br />Sale Liquor License – (Strong) Beer & Brat Event, June 11, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. – <br />7:00 p.m. @ 6995 Centerville Road (Church of St. Genevieve Community Parish <br />Center) as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar requested that Mr. Keiselhorst pass along the City’s and the Parks <br />& Recreation Committee’s appreciation for the donation to the anonymous donors and <br /> <br />the entire Lions Club for their donation. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that last evening was the first evening for the concession stand to <br />be at Laurie LaMotte Park and their gross revenue was marginal; however, the Parks & <br />Recreation Committee anticipates that support will grow throughout the Little League <br />season. <br /> <br /> <br />VII.OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.FCC Response (Staff/City Attorney/North Metro Cable) <br /> <br />Administrator Larson reported that member cities and Staff felt that the North Metro <br />Cable Commission’s attorney Steve Gazetta would respond as a whole rather than each <br />individual member City. Council Member King stated that Attorney Gazetta preferred <br />that each individual member City respond. Administrator Larson stated that Staff and <br /> <br />Legal Counsel could spend a minimal amount of time and respond to only key questions. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to authorize <br />Staff to respond only to the items deemed pertinent to preserving the City’s <br />authority to govern right-of-ways, permitting, etc. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Res. #11-010 – Endorsing & Supporting P & R’s Nomination for the 2011 <br />C.C. Ludwig Award Submission <br /> <br />Administrator Larson stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee had been working on <br />nominating previous Mayor Mary Capra for the C.C. Ludwig Award sponsored by the <br />League of Minnesota Cities. Administrator Larson stated that the award is bestowed <br />upon an individual serving in the capacity of a City Official who has served their <br />community above and beyond their position and improved municipal government in <br />numerous ways and conducted themselves in a selfless fashion for the betterment of their <br />community. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />
